Same-Day Dental Implants in Dubai: Can You Really Get Teeth in a Day?
The short answer: In the right case, yes. It is possible to place a dental implant, and even to attach teeth to it, on the same day. But “same-day implants” covers two different things that are easy to confuse, and being clear about them is the key to understanding what is realistically possible. The first is immediate placement, putting the implant in on the same day a tooth is removed. The second is immediate loading, attaching teeth to the implant the same day it is placed, rather than waiting months. Both are excellent options when the conditions are right, above all enough healthy bone to hold the implant firmly on the day and no active infection that cannot be cleaned. The important honest detail is that the teeth you leave with the same day are usually temporary, designed to look good and let you function while the implant integrates, with the final teeth fitted later. Done on the right patient, it is a genuine, life-improving option. Promised to everyone regardless of their anatomy, it is marketing.

Two different things called “same-day”
Almost all confusion about same-day implants comes from mixing up two separate stages. They can happen together, but they are not the same thing.
• Immediate placement means the implant is placed in the same appointment that the tooth is extracted, instead of removing the tooth, waiting months for the socket to heal, and placing the implant in a second surgery later. This saves a separate operation and a lot of waiting time.
• Immediate loading means teeth are fixed onto the implant the same day it is placed, instead of leaving the implant to integrate under the gum for a few months before anything visible is attached.
You can have one without the other. An implant can be placed immediately but left to heal before teeth are added. Or a healed site can receive an implant that is loaded the same day. When patients say “teeth in a day,” they usually mean both happening together, most often for a full arch.
What makes same-day possible: primary stability
The single factor that decides whether an implant can be placed or loaded immediately is primary stability, how firmly the implant grips the bone the moment it goes in.
An implant that is solidly anchored on the day can tolerate immediate placement and, in many cases, a temporary tooth straight away. An implant that is not firmly held on the day needs time to integrate quietly before it can carry any load. This is not a matter of preference or speed, it is biology, and pushing past it is how early failures happen.
Primary stability depends mainly on how much healthy bone there is and its quality. That is why no honest clinician can promise same-day teeth before seeing your bone on a CBCT 3D scan. The scan, not the advertisement, decides what is possible.
Who is a good candidate
Same-day approaches suit a meaningful number of patients, but not everyone. The conditions that make them possible include:
• Enough healthy bone to anchor the implant firmly on the day. Where bone has been lost, it may need rebuilding first, which means same-day is not the route.
• No active infection at the site that cannot be thoroughly cleaned at the time of surgery.
• Healthy gums and good general health, since conditions that impair healing raise the risk.
• A manageable bite, as heavy grinding puts extra force on an implant before it has integrated.
• Realistic expectations, understanding that the same-day teeth are usually temporary and that the final result comes in stages.
Where these are not met, placing the implant in stages is not a lesser treatment, it is the right treatment for that mouth. A good implantologist offers same-day when it is genuinely suitable and advises against it when it is not.
Single tooth versus a full arch
“Same-day implants” means something a little different depending on how much is being replaced.
A single tooth. Here same-day usually means immediate placement at the time of extraction, often with a temporary tooth if stability allows, especially in the smile zone so you are not left with a visible gap. The socket is thoroughly cleaned, and healing is supported with PRF made from your own blood.
A full arch. For patients who have lost, or are about to lose, all the teeth in a jaw, a full arch of fixed temporary teeth can be supported on several implants placed the same day. This is the “teeth in a day” concept most people have heard of. It is a major, life-changing treatment and part of comprehensive rehabilitation, and it rewards careful planning above all.
The honest part: temporary now, final later
This is where good marketing and good dentistry part ways. The teeth attached on the same day are, in most cases, high-quality temporaries. They are made to look natural and let you eat and smile while the implants integrate with the bone underneath over the following months.
The definitive teeth, made for the long term in their final material and shade, are fitted once integration is confirmed. This staged finish is not a catch or an upsell, it is what protects the result. Attaching heavy final teeth to implants that have not yet integrated risks the very foundation the whole treatment depends on. Anyone promising permanent final teeth, for everyone, in a single day, is overstating what is safe.
The benefits, kept in perspective
For suitable patients, same-day implants offer real advantages:
• Fewer surgeries. Immediate placement combines extraction and implant into one procedure.
• Much less waiting. You leave with teeth the same day rather than facing months with a gap or a removable denture.
• Bone preservation. Placing an implant at the time of extraction puts a root back into the bone early, helping to preserve it.
• Psychological ease. Not being without teeth, particularly at the front, matters a great deal to most people.
These are genuine benefits. The reason to be measured is not that same-day is bad, it is excellent in the right hands, but that it is not universal, and honesty about who it suits is what separates a good result from a disappointed one.
What about metal-free, same-day implants?
Immediate protocols are well established and most documented with titanium. For patients who want metal-free treatment, ceramic (zirconia) implants can also be placed immediately in suitable cases, though the margins are tighter and the planning even more demanding, because the case has to meet both the metal-free and the same-day conditions at once. Whether it is possible for you is, again, a question the CBCT scan and a careful assessment answer, not a question answered in advance by a slogan.
Frequently asked questions
Can I really get a dental implant and a tooth in one day? In suitable cases, yes. If there is enough healthy bone to hold the implant firmly and no infection that cannot be cleaned, an implant can be placed and a temporary tooth attached the same day. Whether you qualify depends on a clinical examination and a CBCT scan, not on an advertisement.
Are the teeth I get the same day permanent? Usually not. The same-day teeth are typically high-quality temporaries that let you look and function normally while the implant integrates. The final, definitive teeth are fitted later, once integration is confirmed, which is what makes the result safe and lasting.
What is the difference between immediate placement and immediate loading? Immediate placement means the implant goes in the same day the tooth is removed. Immediate loading means teeth are attached to the implant the same day it is placed. They can happen together, but they are separate steps, and either can be done without the other depending on the case.
Who is not a candidate for same-day implants? Patients without enough bone to anchor the implant firmly on the day, those with active infection that cannot be cleaned, or with conditions that impair healing, and those where the bite would overload the implant too soon. For them, a staged approach is safer and is the correct treatment.
Is same-day treatment riskier than the traditional approach? In the right case and in experienced hands, success rates are high and comparable. The risk rises when same-day is applied to a patient who does not meet the conditions for it. The deciding factor is honest case selection and planning, which is why the choice of implantologist matters so much.
Can I get same-day implants for a full set of teeth? Yes, for suitable patients a full arch of fixed temporary teeth can be supported on several implants placed the same day, as part of a planned full-mouth rehabilitation. The definitive teeth follow after healing. It is a major treatment that depends heavily on thorough planning.
